First Communion Invitations - Don't Forget to Send Them

Most children's first communions are held between April and September each year. It is important that approximately 4 weeks before the event, you send out the First Communion invitations to all the family and friends that you would like to attend the event, so that they can keep this most special of holy days, free on their social calendars.

Since the advent on online shopping and digital processing, there are now are wide range of elegant and tasteful First Communion invites on the market that are suitable for all styles, tastes, budgets and fashions.

Some of the most popular designs include:

  • Photo first communion invitations. These are a wonderful new addition to the online world of printed invitations. Since most people now own a digital camera, you can set up a photo shoot of your son or daughter in the communion attire and then choose your favorite picture and upload it to all the websites that process photo first communion invitations. The picture can be placed as a large background, faded photo, or a small photo in the corner of the invitation. These are personally my favorite as they also then become a keepsake for the people invited to the party and also for the personal who is doing the first communion, as they can remember this special day and what they looked like on the day for many years to come.
  • Personalized first communion invitations. These invites come in a wide range of designs and style including lace embellishments, ribbons tied at the top with a cross charm hanging and lots of gorgeous make and female styles. The best part about ordering personalized invitations online is that all the details are printed for you including the time, date, persons name etc and then they are sent to you in the mail with guaranteed ontime delivery. Allow about 2 weeks for ordering and delivery, hence you should start the process of ordering online about 6 weeks before the event.
  • Fill in the blank 1st communion invitations. These are pre printed designs that allow you to handwrite all the details in. These are handy if you don't know in advance who might be coming to the party, so you can purchase them as required. They are especially handy to ensure you don't forget anyone!
  • Make your own handmade first communion invitations. There are many cardmaking and scrapbooking supplies available, so that you could make it a family project to make custom handmade invitations for all of your family and friends. The advantage of this is that you can make as many as you like in your own style, however they would take a bit longer.
  • Video first communion invitation. Popular also these days is sending a video invitation to your friends. Just get out your digital video camera and prepare a small speech asking your friends and relatives to come to your party. Then simply upload the video on facebook and email everyone the link, or send the video directly in an email.

After the ceremony is over and the celebration has died down, it is most important that you also thank your relatives and friends for attending the First Communion ceremony and after party and also thank them for their gorgeous gifts, by sending out first communion thank you cards. These can be ordered at the same time as the communion invites, from the same supplier, so that they are all ready to go and send out, or they can be perhaps ordered after the event, so that you can personalize each one by thanking them for the specific gift that was given.
